I decided to start this site after a big pile of linear algebra running in a google datacenter decided to show me Kat's video about what they refer to as the "indie web". I was just slightly too young and missed the original geocities phonomenon, and I guess I'm making up for lost time a bit here.
An old boss of mine was adamant that web design skills would become as important to generations younger than his as basic literacy is. I used to disagree, as the internet seemed to be inevitably decaying into corporate walled-gardens; that hand-coded HTML/CSS wasn't going to remain relevant in a social internet consisting entirely of rigid platforms.
While I still think that not everybody should need to be a programmer (or should even need to understand basic HTML) as a prerequisite for participation in the social internet, I do think web design skills are a pretty neat addition to the toolbelts of modern internet citizens.
This site is my attempt at dusting off my web design skills and, I hope, an effort to expand this beautifully slow quiet peaceful corner of the internet. I'll try not to be too pretentious in the process, but I know I'll probably fail.
I'm Zofia, and I'm literally just a girl [citation needed]! I use she/they pronouns. I want to keep this little project somewhat anonymous for now. I'm sure if you try hard enough you can figure out my shoe size or exactly when I learned my first curse word or whatever, but I'd appreciate it if you keep those efforts to yourselves ;)
Despite my best efforts, my various e-mail inboxes remain clogged with spam and random internet account notifications. So, if you want to get in contact with me for some reason, I suppose the neocities comment section is as good a place as any!
