I finally got a dedicated drawing pad! It's nice not to have to drag out my barely functional laptop, but I do miss having a screen on the drawing surface.
In RE: reading more non-fiction, lol. In other unrelated news, I've been absolutely devouring The Stormlight Archive books, and it's some of the most creative worldbuilding I've ever read. Not to mention really rich character writing with...
Finally getting around to making things look a bit nicer around here! I'm hoping to keep improving it, but I'm going for a loosely Tunic inspired theme
I have all these ideas about stuff to write about, but I'm stopping myself because I don't feel like I have a good enough academic perspective. I guess lack of expertise never stopped anyone from writing their opinions on the internet before, but I think I'm gonna do more research first
I took some time off of work, but now I'm here and all I find myself wanting to do is write some code. Like bitch you wanted a break take a damn break!
On the other hand, it might be nice to spend some creative energy on myself instead of my stupid job for once.
I have been recently very addicted to the game Factorio. Though, I can't decide how to feel about the theme of the game since on the surface it's about doing a colonialism.
I got my ears pierced this weekend!!!
There's this piece of software for MacOS that I desperately miss called Alfred. Generally fuck Apple, but damn do I miss being able to look up a definition or spelling with a single shortcut
I have a "comfort audiobook" that I like to listen to while I'm trying to fall asleep... it's The Martian
Sometimes the most incongruous thing about it is also the thing I like most about it: it's so damn hopeful. It's nice to imagine a world where so many people can care so much about saving one random dude
My brother won me a little stuffed panda in a (also stuffed) cup of bubble tea, I love it so much :)
It was also one of the most unexpectedly good gender moments, I've been thinking about it for weeks
It feels so good
not caring where you are tonight
Going for a bit of an abstract sticky-note aesthetic -- I don't hate it but I'm definitely not married to it.
Speaking of staying on theme, I just made this:
The lettering ended up dissapointingly LabVIEW VI art, but I think it's not bad. Call it version one (she says, knowing she will likely never change it)
was going to put a story here about doing gymnastics as a kid that I told to my laser tech yesterday, but I think I'm just gonna compile all the egg moments into one big pile
My laser tech really cranked up the power today -- she said she was "going for results"
My computer has a case fan with a failing bearing. It occasionally makes really annoying noises, but not annoying enough to make me actually want to replace it
